A shared ambition<\/h2>\n

This project fully illustrates our commitment to supporting manufacturers in developing high-performance, automated, and economically viable post-processing solutions<\/strong>. By collaborating with R\u00f6sler, Initial is part of a joint effort to advance additive manufacturing standards, <\/strong>from printing to the finished part.<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n\n

As part of its R&D program, R\u00f6sler<\/a> France<\/strong>, a manufacturer of industrial post-treatment solutions, is currently developing a new automated powder removal machine using sandblasting<\/strong>. This project, led by its AM Solutions<\/strong> division, aims to enhance the existing offering\u2014particularly the S1 range\u2014with a more accessible solution<\/strong> that can be adapted to the constraints of additive manufacturing.<\/p>\n

A collaboration based on experimentation<\/h2>\n

To ensure the reliability of this new technology, R\u00f6sler asked Initial to supply the parts needed for powder removal testing<\/strong>. These tests, carried out at the Sens site<\/strong>, will evaluate the machine’s ability to effectively process printed parts according to different parameters of size, geometry, and material.<\/p>\n

The parts will come from our SLS<\/a> fleet<\/strong> in order to produce raw, non-powder-coated parts that can be particularly difficult to clean.<\/p>\n

The aim is to test the effectiveness of powder removal without any upstream pre-cleaning steps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Testing to innovate<\/h3>\n

The tests will aim to validate consistent and reproducible powder removal<\/strong> by comparing different media\u2014including plastic and stainless steel balls\u2014on two types of materials: PA2200<\/strong><\/a> (polyamide) and Alumide<\/strong> <\/a>(aluminum-filled PA).<\/p>\n

This test phase will require several iterations, with volumes of parts in the order of 5 liters<\/strong> per series.
